Monday's Poem

Winter White

I watch the paperwhites
rise toward the sun
in their straight shoots;
each height of stem
a darker shade of green

like the color of grass
as it unfolds in spring;
I wait for snowy blossoms
to lift and kiss me.
Soon; any day now.
